Today was a quiet (well, as quiet as two kids ever get), lazy day around the house. We've had a busy couple of weeks so I finally needed a break and had one of those sit around in our jammies 'til noon kind of days. Mayah and I thought today would be a great opportunity to teach Connor some of the finer points of being a kid. We taught him how to smell markers...the fruity kind, not the "get high" kind :-), and how to set up a death trap of pillows on the floor then jump onto them belly first. Some of the other highlights were when I caught Connor changing his baby's diaper...how adorable!! If only he'd learn to change his own! And when he would walk up to me and give me his big lips for a kiss. He used to pucker his lips like that when he'd get mad about something, but I would just laugh, so now he does it to be funny or whenever I say "give momma lips!" At this stage he is starting to put 2 words together, my faves are "nack ease" for snack please, and "dank oooh" for thank you. Jason loves it when he says "moe" for more of whatever he wants. He can point to his body parts and do animal noises, the cutest by far is when he does the monkey with his arms curled under his armpits and he puckers his lips for a big "ooh ooh, ooh ooh". He is still obsessed with his blue snugglies and likes to carry around a baby doll saying "ba bee". It's crazy how all of a sudden they start picking up words and doing things that you thought they'd never be able to do. It goes by way too fast!
