Mayah's friends

So this evening after baths I found Mayah putting all her barrettes on her pj top like this. I asked her what she was doing and she said "let me introduce you to my barrette friends." I think it's time to start scheduling some regular play dates with "real" friends!! Since we've moved here we've gone to a couple of playgroups and we meet up with neighborhood moms and their kids (who are mostly her age) at the park on our street almost everyday, but Mayah hasn't really made any good friends that she'd invite over to the house to play. I have noticed that she's been a little more shy and timid around kids ever since we've moved, and she is always talking about how she misses all her friends back in Chicago. I say "around kids" because she still has no problem going up to the grown ups and starting a conversation...I guess it's easy to forget how hard moving is on the little ones too. So her barrette friends made me realize I need to be a little more proactive in helping her make some deeper relationships with kids that she can invite over.
