Boo!

When we moved to Singapore I was kind of expecting that we would have to fore go the Halloween festivities this year. So you can imagine how excited I was to find out that not only were there places to go trick-or-treating, but that it was this HUGE deal where thousands of people come to one particular neighborhood and go door to door. This neighborhood, in the Woodlands, just happens to be a large expat community where there are a bunch of families from our church. We were invited to go up for a little get together at our friends from church house. Mayah and her cute little friend, Ansley, from her Sunday school class really tore it up going door to door and scoring some major candy. Bad for me...means I will be eating way too much chocolate in the weeks to come...I have already proven that to be true this evening after I put the kids to bed and raided their spoils!! I, of course, peer pressured my mom into partaking with me :-) Only one week left to enjoy having Grammy around 24/7 boo hoo :-(

I was also able to go up to the Singapore American School and help out with Mayah's class Halloween party today. Fun, fun. Mayah was a fairy princess and Connor was Batman. As a personal disclaimer the kids make-shift costumes were the best I could come up with without spending an arm and a leg on something from the Toys R Us over here (can anyone say rip off??). And you all know I'm not crafty or motivated enough to whip something up myself! If I would have been really on top of things before we moved out here I would have picked something up or at least packed more of the kids dress up clothes to choose from. So Mayah's "fairy princess" costume is actually her dance recital costume from this past year-she couldn't have been happier to wear it :-). Connor's "Batman" costume is actually a pair of his pajamas (it usually has a cape to go with it, but I forgot that back in CA also)-he couldn't have been happier to wear his either :-). Good thing I have such easy going kids when it comes to things like that.

BOO!!

Mayah & Ansley
Ava was wearing her onesie with a little patchwork bird on it...and her carrier has birds on it too. I thought that was fitting for our little Lou Bird (not that anyone saw her make-shift costume, but it was the principle of having her in a costume despite how pathetic it was). And yes, she does live in this thing whenever we are out...I am wearing her in practically every picture, I know.

Digging through the brains at school.

How fun! I bet the kids LOVED it all! That's awesome you still got to celebrate Halloween over there.
