(basically just a corner by the windows that has a million couch pillows piled in it that the kids like to lay on). She loves going in here all the time, but she especially likes to go in there when Mayah and Connor are NOT in there...that way she can actually lay down and relax on all the pillows by herself...
Anyways, she was in there the other day when I get a little whiff of a dirty diaper. I didn't think too much about it at the time...just a mental note that I should check and see if she was stinky in a couple of minutes. So after I get a slight whiff, Ava then proceeds to crawl out of the corner and over to where I have her diapers stacked...
At the time I was thinking 'oh great, she is wanting to play with the diapers and pull them all off their shelf where I have them nicely stacked'. Ava then takes one diaper out and crawls it over to me...it still hasn't "clicked" in my mind what she wanted so, as she thrust the diaper at me I took it and put it on my head to try and make her laugh...then I put it on her head to see if that would get my desired reaction. She just kind of smiled at me with a funny look on her face. I was doing something on the computer at the time so I gave the diaper back to her and resumed whatever it was I was doing. Then I hear the classic Ava "grunt", this is what she does when she really wants something and we aren't providing it. Her entire little body gets tense and rigid and out comes a frustrated little squeal (I think it's funny and just laugh at her when she does this)...
and I'm just like 'okay, what is it then little woman?? What do you want?' And then it clicks!! She was POOPY and wanted her diaper changed NOW!! FYI she REALLY hates being in a dirty diaper! We'll see if she ever does it again-most likely not, but if so then I'll start working on teaching her how to change it herself too. As I was typing us this post I looked through my picture files and saw that I had some pictures that fit in perfectly with the whole diaper "incident" story. In other Ava news she is just beginning to walk. In fact about 2 mins ago, as I was typing this, she took the most steps she's taken thus far...about 15. My mom tells me that I started walking exactly on my first birthday...maybe Ava will take after me (her b-day is in 3 days). Mayah walked at 9 months (crazy) and Connor at 10. Ava is staying true to form and being my laziest baby yet. I think she's still a good couple of weeks away from walking, but we'll see. She still does NOT have any teeth...just her huge gummy grin, which I absolutely adore!! Mayah and Connor didn't get their teeth until they were 13 and 14 months old, so I'll most likely be able to enjoy her toothless grin for a while longer. Here are some other baby pictures that I thought were cute so I'll post them for you all...
The foot series.
Ava is a bit 'monkey-ish' she likes to use her feet as extra appendages.

She's also an avid dancer like the rest of us!! You can't really hear the music from her little piano, but it's a playin' and she's a dancin'!

Sandy - I had to play this over and over... Ava's so dang cute!! FYI - so are the other kids, love Connor's encouraging words for Ava as she's walking (Oh my gosh she's walking - and just after you posted this about her NOT walking yet - see how she is, just trying to show us up...) This is so fun to watch and it's great that you're Mom is there while all of this is going on ;)
Ava is beautiful. I can't get over it every time I see a picture of her.
Okay...that is soo stinkin' adorable!!!! I wish I could see her do it in person! ;) Soon enough.
