Bye-bye sleeping prodigy

I am sad to say that my little sleeping angel has left the building. I tried very hard to avoid letting the world know what an amazing sleeper Ava was from day one in fear of it coming back to haunt me...but to no avail, she has given up her 12 hour nights (7:30pm-7:30am) and decided that I was getting off way to easy. I do have high hopes, however, that her relapse is only because she has been sick with a horrible cough. Poor thing has this nasty hacking cough that just won't go away. You can tell it really hurts her throat too because she'll cough then immediately cry :-( in this soft high pitched little voice...she's either lost her voice from all the coughing or just realized that it hurts even worse when she cries too hard. I also have to mention that the swaddling thing that she is wearing in this picture is something I can't live without. I put both Connor and Ava in them from day one and both have been amazing sleepers. It is pretty much like a little baby straight jacket that velcros their arms in so they don't wake themselves up with flailing limbs :-) It sounds kind of cruel, but she absolutely loves it and as soon as I put her in it she relaxes and knows it's time to sleep...amazing!

I have just moved Ava into her own room and was so excited that she had made that transition so smoothly, but that was all before she was waking up in the middle of the night! Connor is now sharing a room with Mayah and they are both loving it...for now at least, while it's still like having a sleep over every night.

She looks like a little angel! I'm praying my 3rd is a good sleeper. I think that's the only way I'll survive!

Where did you get the velcro thing? I am definitely going to invest with the next one.

I wish I had that for Ben when he was and infant. We finally had to (shocking) let him sleep on his belly, otherwise he was up all night flailing his arms. She is so adorable by the way.

It never lasts does it. I am so jealous you had as long as you did. I thought Colton was so laid back, but he has changed too- teeth? That's my excuse. I love seeing pics of your fam- they are beautiful! We seriously miss you all and wish you lived closer! Please let us know if you come to Michigan this summer!

I think we've found our little red head! Ava's hair is so red in this picture. Such a sweet little sleeping beauty. My Mother was actually a brunette/redhead but she always dyed it so most people didn't know that.
