Bieber Fever...

For the kids {Mayah's and Connor's} birthday party this year I decided to forgo the stress of hosting a bazillion kiddos at our house and surprise them with something a little different....a Justin Bieber concert. I asked Mayah what she would rather have for her "party"...a party, party or a concert party. She wisely chose the concert because she knew cute little Justin Bieber wouldn't be here next year and a "regular" birthday party would be ;-) I asked Connor if he knew who Justin Bieber was before I bought his ticket because I didn't want to commit to taking him if he wouldn't get the coolness of a concert yet. I thought his reply to my question was really cute and very Connor-esque..."Yeah, I know who he is, he's a famous person. I'm a fan of his." Very matter of fact. We started the evening by having dinner with at Red Robin with a couple of Mayah's friends (Connor thinks of them as his friends too;-)), Isabel and Lauren. We then went to the concert where they were all totally STOKED! Can't you tell by the pictures?? The girls were even more excited to find out that Sean Kingston was the opening act {apparently they love him} and they were also super excited because they were filming and doing audio clips from our crowd for Justin Bieber's new movie so we would be in the movie. I got a kick out of how cool they thought that was. At one point they were having the audience say/scream certain things while they recorded and one of the things they had us say was "I love Justin Bieber!!" Connor leaned over to me and said, "I am NOT saying that!" He is definitely not in love with JB, but he does like the music and he was totally jamming and dancing at the concert...it was really cute to see him {and the girls} enjoying it sooooo much. We also were surprised by an appearance by Jaden Smith, he and Justin sing a song together from the new Karate Kid movie. Connor thought that was really cool because we saw that movie in the theater not that long ago. It was an awesome night and I can't wait till someone else cool goes on tour so I can have an excuse to take the kids again. Jason and I went to a Muse concert about a month ago and I had forgotten how amazing it was...it's been years since I've been to one. So now I have to admit that I am a bit of a concert junkie ~ I'm looking for my next fix! ;-)

What a cool mom you are! Looks like so much fun. Of course, I'll never forget my first concert! I think I was in 4th grade and it was New Kids on the Block.
