What's new? Not much...

We haven't been up to anything new and exciting, but I just thought I would try and capture some of the randomness that has been going on around here. The other day Mayah and I were watching TV (I think it was a special night when I was letting just her stay up late and watch American Idol with me) and the commercial for "He's Just Not That Into You" came on. It was the part where some girl just got dumped and her friends were trying to comfort her and one girl says to the dumpee "you're just too awesome and too pretty." Mayah then looks at me, all serious, and says "That's impossible, you can never been too awesome or too pretty." Then goes back to watching the TV. Maybe you had to be there, but you know she was thinking...what in the world is that girl talking about?! At first I was worried and thinking how I don't want her to think like that, but I guess she's kind of right....there really isn't anything wrong with being "too awesome," is there? :-) Another funny Mayah thing that happened today was when we were in the car she hung one of her bangle bracelets on each earring to make it look like she was wearing big hoops...it actually looked pretty realistic. Then when we got inside like 30 minutes later she lets out a big huff and exclaims..."I just want to get on with my life and start wearing dangly earrings!" All serious, again, like it was life or death. The trials of a 6 year old are just too much for her I guess...I just want to get on with my life...I thought that was hilarious.

The following is a video of our newest trick for keeping Ava entertained at the restaurants while we're waiting for the food to arrive...she's recently discovered her love-hate relationship with lemons. I like to call it her bitter beer face...

Nothing too new in Connor's life other than he will be starting preschool next week. It's funny b/c in the fall when I was thinking about signing him up I was thinking he wasn't ready at all, but now, just a few months later, we are both totally ready for it. We were going around checking out a bunch of different schools and each time we would leave he would get sad that he wasn't staying for the whole day. So he got his way and he gets to start preschool early. Here are some pictures of some shoe choices that he will NOT be allowed to wear to school. He loves his shoes just like his dad.
