Today was one that makes every mother of young children sweat just at the thought of it...a day full of Dr.'s appointments. Ava had her 9 month check up this morning, which all of the kids had to sit through. She is 50th percentile for height, 25th percentile for head circumference, and 3rd percentile for weight. Her weight percentile has been steadily dropping since about 4 or 5 months. It's weird though because you would never think she was under weight just by looking at her b/c she still has all the cute little baby rolls. The Dr. just told me to make sure she's eating a lot and to check her weight each month to make sure she's gaining. The nurse and I did check the scale twice to make sure we saw it right, because we were both surprised when we saw the 3% on the chart. I guess I'm not that concerned though because both Mayah and Connor were in the lower percentiles (10%). Ava also got a shot...this is remarkable b/c she didn't shed a single tear!! She was sucking her binki when the shot was given and all of a sudden she got this look on her face like "what the heck did you just do to me lady??!!" Then the look went away and she kept right on sucking her binki. The only tears that were shed were by Connor on the way home when I opened the sunroof and his balloon flew out...oops! I guess I should have guessed that would have happened. He has a Dr's appt. later today so I promised him we would get him another balloon if they have them at that doctors office...I'm praying they do b/c that is NOT something he will forget about!!
On other Ava development news...she is almost, almost, almost crawling. She will get up on all fours then kind of scoot around to a sitting position and then either roll in the direction she wants to go or get on all fours again and repeat the scoot-sit procedure. I'll have to capture it on video for the grandparents b/c it is really cute :-) She has also begun to eat her baby food over the past 2 weeks...sigh of relief for me! And as you can see from the above pictures I am still cramming Ava into the sling, very cute to see her all smooshed in there in a sitting position...she really does like it, I swear!! This picture was taken at Disneyland just the other day when we went there with all the cousins.

Sandy! You lucky woman~ shots with no tears....Emmett has been asking ALL year about when he turns 5 ("will I have to get pokies? ...I don't want my birthday to come.") He's always been a screamer with the shots. Yikes. Also- what kind of sling do you have?? I've been wanting to get one but haven't heard anyone rave about any one kind! Please let me know~ I'm really wanting to get one!!
She is such a freaking cutie! I can't believe she's only in the 3rd percentile, do you have her on the ballerina cotton ball diet already!? I think she's a little young to be starting that kind of behavior! I guess it's okay as long as you teach her Michael Jackson's THRILLER dance moves once she starts walking!!!

I hate taking kids to the doctor...amazing that she didn't cry though.
