I just finished Stephenie Meyer's newest book, The Host. It was a great read and I would definitely reccommend it to anyone. I wasn't sure I would like it when I first saw what genre it would be, but thought I would give it a try anyways since I loved the Twilight series despite my hesitations that I wouldn't because of the whole sci-fi thing. Meyer is fast making her way to the top of my author list as #1...I mean it says a lot that she is making me fall in love with these books that wouldn't even interest me in the slightest since I am usually more of a mystery or fictional history lover...but vampires and body snatchers?? Who would have thought?? So if you are still thinking to yourself that you would most definitely NOT like reading anything to do with vampires or body snatchers then you're missing out :-) Go on just give 'em a try...I did and loved them!! I do have to say that The Host was not as good as Twilight, but it was pretty dang close. The Host touched on so many different aspects of humanity that it would be appealing to a bunch of different types of reader...love of community, love of a mother, romanitc love (my favorite, I'm a sap), etc.

I just put my name on the reserve list at the library for this new book and for her "Breaking Dawn" book coming out in August!
I can't wait to get to read them. I loved her first three books.

This book is in the mail, on it's way! I'm glad to hear you liked it because I was a little worried~ I figured it would be a safe bet because like you said, Stephenie Meyer has already proved herself (in my book) with the whole Twilight series. Can't wait to dive in and read!

Okay, was a little questionable after reading what it was about. Now I MUST go out and get it. I needed another new book to read anyway!! Yeah!!!
I loved twilight series as well (contrary to my expectations) so I'll have to give Host a try. I'm sure it won't disappoint. thanks for the recommendation!
