Girls trip...

Miss engaged, miss preggers & me!
I have been looking forward to this trip for what seems like years now. My best friends, Jamie and Kate, and I have been talking about getting together for a girls trip for years now and it has finally come to pass! Jamie just recently got engaged and Kate is expecting her first little bambino (a boy) in August so it was so great to see them at such important times in their lives. I just have to quickly add that Kate is the cutest & tiniest pregnant woman I have ever seen. Her little belly sticks straight out so you can't even tell she's pregnant from behind...yea, she's one of those that every other woman who's ever been pregnant hates :-) Our long weekend of late night chatting and giggling, eating moose tracks ice cream, shopping, and every other girly stereotype imaginable went by way to fast and has made me realize we need to do this on a more regular basis...I'm thinking annually at the very least! Other than the constant girl talk and yummy food the highlights of the trip included...a day trip to Jamie's parent's house to relax by the pool. It was so relaxing in a resort type of way...their house was absolutely gorgeous with a great view. Mrs. Vergari made us a delicious lunch complete with the the best strawberry shortcake and pudding dessert (pictures to follow...yum yum!!). My personal favorite was the chocolate dipped strawberries. My mouth is watering just thinking about it :-) I was truly able to relax too b/c Jamie's mom held Ava pretty much the entire time - thank you, thank you, thank you again! Ava was very out of her element on the trip (she wanted to be held ALL the time and was very vocal about letting you know) so it was a much needed break.

I love this picture! Ava loved all the attention, she's truly a spoiled little diva.

In case you're wondering what the random cactus pictures are...they're of a bob cat that Mr. and Mrs. Vergari found sitting on top of a cactus that was just a couple houses down. At first they thought it was an owl or something but with a closer look realized it wasn't quite so innocent, scary if you ask me!! Mr. V took some great pictures that ended up in the newspaper.
On Saturday we were able to see the wedding dress Jamie is 99.9% sure about and also try on some bridesmaid dresses. Kate and I couldn't help getting in on all the bridal action too :-) And as you can see even Ava felt the need to dream about her future wedding and get all dolled up!! I would have posted one of the three of us, or of just Jamie, but she was wearing her wedding dress and I didn't want to spoil it!! Just for the record her dress is absolutely, breathtakingly glamorous...no exaggeration.

At lunch Kate and I surprised Jamie with a mini bachelorette party. It was hilarious to say the least...granted it was pretty tame, but there's nothing like embarrassing your good friend in a very public place with some honeymoon goodies :-) Our evening was brought to an end as Rory, Jamie's fiance, cooked us a delicious meal...did you hear that Jason? Yes, Rory is an amazing cook and does the majority of the cooking...I didn't hesitate to tell Jamie how good she's got it to have a man that will cook for her!

So, needless to say, this long awaited girls trip came to an end way to quickly. It was soooo good to catch up with my BFFs. I just hope that 1) Ava's cranky vacation attitude didn't completely scare Jamie and Rory away from ever having kids of their own or give Kate too much stress about giving birth to her baby boy in the next few months and 2) that we don't wait nearly as long to have another girls trip. Luckily Jamie's wedding is next year so we already have another trip in the making...yeah!! I love you ladies! And I have to make sure I give a HUGE thank you to the best husband and father in the entire world. Jason took the day off Friday and took care of Mayah and Connor for the whole weekend...the kids loved it and were spoiled rotten by dear old dad :-)

I already miss you guys! I had so much fun this weekend. I totally agree that we need to schedule an annual thing. (Actually today I was just thinking that we should do it three times every year - once in Cali, once in Phoenix, and once in Philly - but I guess that is a lot of traveling!)

You're one of those tiny pregnant girls that us other pregnant and in my case post pregnant fatties despise too, MISS SANDY! :) HE HE HE! Also, do you think Jamie's fiancee and Jason could teach Marc a few things for me?

Kate you look amazing! I am so happy for you and for Jamie!! Congrats congrats. babies, weddings and everything in-between.
I love the posts Sandy - you looked not to shabby yourself - miss skinny pants. By the way - I got your gift in the mail - you are WAY TOOOO on top of things for me. I am just trying to get a shower in every day... true, I know sad huh? Going from one to two kids for me has been a bit of a transition... I am not sure how three is going to be whenever that happens!

But thank you so much for the gift. Onesies are always needed and the outfit is perfect! Love it.

By the way - Ava, is about the cutest thing ever. I see some strawberry color in her hair, is that right. Or am I just imagining things?

It is so nice to see the three BFs together. Some of my best memories of being Sandy's Mom are of the three of you together.

Jamie you look wonderful! I am so excited for you and Rory! And I'm sure Sandy passed on my hope to join you for your wedding ;)

Kate you look wonderful! You don't look very big for being 6 months pregnant. I am so excited for you and Steve and especially for your Mom :) She's going to be an awesome Grandma!
