Bye bye binkie...

Hopefully the binkie won't be making anymore appearances in the pictures with Ava...

(This is why I have to keep my floors so clean...you never know when the urge will strike for a little babe to roll around on the kitchen floor)

My friend and I were at the park a few days ago talking about our youngest kids (they're the same age) and how we desperately need to break them of their pacifier habits (in fear of major buck teeth). She was way more committed and enthusiastic about actually starting the process of taking the binkie away and I was more like ~ yea, good luck with that! Totally not ready to take on that task. Anyways, when I got home and was putting Ava to bed I had a spur of the moment lapse in sanity and thought ~ what the heck I'll give it a try just to see how bad it will be when I am actually going to make the big move in about half a year. Well, lets just say that it went better than I could have imagined...hallelujah for that. She hasn't had it since Thursday and is doing fine. I know there will soon be a point while I'm in church or some public place that I'm going to wish I could shove that thing in her mouth to keep her quiet, but we'll cross that bridge when it comes...I told Jason that she'll probably just get a little chubbier because I can always keep her quiet by stuffing her face with snacks. She'll ask for it when I put her down for naps and at bedtime, but I just keep telling her that it's lost or has gone bye bye and she's okay with it. The cutest part now is that as I'm rocking her and putting her in her crib she'll talk to me and keep telling me "Na-night mama" and blow me kisses. Next task on my list is to transition her to the toddler bed, but that is definitely waiting until she has mastered the no binkie thing.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! It's so sad to think she's getting that old already :( She's just so cute with that binkie! Even if Ava isn't going to miss it Grammy is :(

You are so ambitious! I did it the other way around. Colt just started climbing out of his crib so we put him in a toddler bed! Our transition has not gone so smoothly- he is up every 2 seconds until he is so tired he finally goes to sleep. The first few nights were definitely rough, but we are not saying bye bye binkie until his 2nd birthday! Love your darling kids- they all look alike and are just soooooo cute!

Ava looks so big in those pictures. Is she growing a lot taller? Miss her so much.

Well the binkie can go as long as those beautiful curls on Ava's head get to stay. What a cutieface!
Miss you guys.
