Gettin' crafty...

Jason is away this weekend in Kansas for his cousin Clea's wedding. So what do I do with my time? I get crafty, that's what I do. First of all I have to say that I don't have a crafty bone in my body. Sure, I love the idea of creating all the cute and crafty things I see out there, but when it comes down to it I'll usually opt to buy someone else's creation instead of doing it myself. Well, I finally gave in to my urges and decided to try my hand at some craftiness myself. I had a ton of fun going to the fabric store and picking out some really cute things. I had to resist the urge to buy all of the fabrics that I loved and just pick my two favorites (the blue with brown trees and the colorful flowery one). The rest are ones that I found in the clearance bin and thought I could get some good use out of. So far I've used up all of the tree fabric and have some plans for the rest. I figure I'd better try finishing my other projects soon while the bug has bitten or before I get too busy again. The rocker cushion and the window seat cushion don't really count as being crafty because they were really easy...Ava's shirt, on the other hand, was pretty tricky for me. I basically just tried copying another shirt that she has like it. I had to add some brown fabric to the sides because I didn't have quite enough of the tree fabric left to make it the right size. That made it harder than it should have been, but all in all I'm happy with how it turned out so far...I'm not quite finished with the detailing (I want to add some buttons or ribbon on the front so it's not so plain).

I love the fabric and the top looks really perfect with the brown on the sides. I think it may look better with it than without it. GOOD JOB SANDY!!!
