I guess Ava felt it was her turn to take the lovely tour of the ER. It's funny how in the entire 6 years of mom-hood I have only been to the ER once in the States...and that was only for a high fever...and while here for 3 short months, on the complete opposite side of the world, my kids have decided now would be a good time to start becoming regulars. (Mayah, you'd better not even think of making it 3 for 3! Then they'd really be calling child services on me!)So, Ava is now going home with her very own Singapore souvenir...the cutest little baby cast you've ever seen!! I guess she figured that since we began our trip with a visit to the ER we should end it the very same way :-) She fell while standing up at our coffee table playing. She hit her head on the table then braced herself with her wrists as she fell to the floor. She was crying so hard for so long and I really thought it was her head that was hurting her from hitting it on the table, but soon realized it was her wrist b/c every time I touched it or she would try to crawl on it she would scream in agony. The break is nothing too serious, just a broken wrist bone that will heal quickly in about 3 weeks. The doctor even said we might not need to put her in a cast..."Just keep her from falling on it again and she'll be okay", he said. I looked at him and laughed!! I told him that she just learned to walk and that she falls a minimum of 50 times a day right onto her wrists. His reply was "You don't think you could keep her from doing that for 3 weeks?" Again, I just looked at him and laughed. So a teeny tiny baby cast it is for Miss Ava.
Look out Connor & Mayah...if you get in my way or steal my toys I'll whack you with my robo-baby-arm!
As you can see she's still as happy as usual, just using her left hand for most things. I thought these pictures were cute of Ava first trying to give the baby it's binkie just like hers and then trying to steal it for herself :-)

Poor thing! It does look so darn cute though. Crossing my fingers for no more ER visits!
That's so sad : ( I can't believe this happened to our little Ava.
I knew I should have stayed to go home with you : (
I say you better ditch the coffee table until you leave! That's caused all the injuries right?
Poor baby! So sad, but so stinkin' cute!
Poor little Ava!! She looks so freakin' cute though. Yeah, um I would have given the doctor the old look and laugh just as well. 2 more weeks!! What a fun journey it's been for you guys. So many wonderful places you've been able to go to....so jealous. Enjoy your last 2 weeks.
Oh the poor little doll. She's so sweet! And has that doctor ever seen a child before!? Yeah, so easy to keep them from falling, especially right after they learn to walk!
I'm so excited for you to be back, it will be so relaxing for you! You also forgot to mention the trip you're planning to Utah, right!?
What a cutie! I love the blond curls. One of my friend's little girl just broke her arm the same way. I don't Haven to start walking....but she's got ideas of her own. I can't believe you return home so soon. What an amazing experience. You have had so many experiences and are the supermom of the year. I can't believe all you've been through and the adventure and memories it brings. Call me when you are back so we can catch up. I can't wait to hear more....
