Thanksgiving festivities...

Thanksgiving is always such a memorable time around our house. Jason and I just love the holiday season and Thanksgiving pretty much kicks off the festivities for us. Here's a recap of our weekend...nothing too eventful or humorous, sorry, but it was just nice spending so much time as a fam! I've been totally spoiled since Ava's been born because Jason has taken a TON of time off from work then we had the long weekend for Thanksgiving and in less than a month we'll have Christmas vacation!! You'd think we'd get sick of eachother, but it only makes me miss him more when he goes back to work...at least that's how I feel :-) Jason's probably ready to get out of the mad house and back to work. Oh and you have him to thank for the blog being updated because he told me I'm slacking :-) and need to put up a new post...so here it is!

Jason stayed home with the kids on Wed. so I could volunteer for Mayah's Thanksgiving day party. I was in charge of helping the kids make butter out of heavy cream by having them dance around while shaking the cream...nothing like putting my dancing "expertise" to good use!! I must add that it was the best workout I've gotten in a LONG time...I was totally sweaty by the end of the day because we were dancing outside in the blazing sun...I got a good tan though!

After we hit some major sales and spent some $ on stuff we probably didn't really need and wouldn't have bought anyways (I guess we just felt a great need to help out the economy) we decorated our Christmas tree while listing to the Polar Express and drinking cocoa.

Sunday night was spent decorating a ginger bread house (I'm sure all of my fellow Costco members recognize this kit). Connor was mostly concerned with eating the candy. I was loving the frosting.

Here is the final product...very cute and yummy too! It came with four other gingerbread men, but we've (I've) already eaten them...yum!

I can't believe you've already got your tree up AND made a gingerbread house! If only I were so organized! : )

You win mommy of the year. What the heck. The ginger bread house too?!! I am going to Costco tonight and we are buying it. And watching Polar Express and drinking hot coco!! :) I put my tree up AFTER the kids went to bed. I thought about letting them help and then my OCD kicked in.

You and Jason are the best parents! I can't believe how much you fit in over Thanksgiving weekend! I'm just sorry we couldn't have join in the fun. I'm so glad you got some pics out there for us to see. Love you all, Grammy & Pappy from the car on the way home from Florida.
